Teplice town is best known for its spa but can also offer a complex entertainment for free time in many forms of cultural, social and sport events.

Spa centre of Teplice encourage toward calm sitting in one of local restaurants, cafes or sweetshops just like it always used to be in the famous history of local spa.
The town centre represents a symbiosis of old classicist and modern architecture. You can overlook it from the tower of the st. John Baptist church from 16th century which is open for public. Modern town promenade is represented by Krupská Street with its small shops and refreshment serenades. Annual May festive spa season opening associated with spa testifying belongs to the coloring of the oldest spa in Europe that was founded more than 850 years ago.

Culture and cultural relics

• “Krušnohorské divadlo” theater – musical and stage scene, possibility to hold a social meeting.

• North Czech Philharmonic Teplice – concert events throughout the whole year, in summer, even in Spa Park.

• Duchcov castle – was used by Giacomo Casanova as his residence which made the estate famous.
• Fortress ruin on Doubravská peak – it was reconstructed in the romantic style by the end of 19th century and serves as an excursion restaurant.

Spare time

The part of the Teplice castle complex is a vast and uncommon Castle garden park with two ponds and a range of tiny romantic structures. Monkey pavilion is also a part of the garden as well as the children playground, biker and skater trails, walk paths for mothers with children and for people with dogs. Botanic gardens can be a perfect destination for nice family trip even when the weather is bad. These gardens contain a wide variety of exotic plants, cactuses and a green-house for tropic plants. The observatory and planetarium on the sand hill are opened for public on every day and at the weekends.
Ideal conditions for relaxation are in Šanov Park that lies in the proximity of Novoveská flat complex.          

Sport activities

Steep slopes of Ore Mountains on the north are characteristic for Teplice scenery. You can be escorted by the longest funicular in the Czech Republic on the peak Komáří Vížka from Krupka town. In 20 minutes you’ll be comfortably transported to the mountain hotel with a terrace from which you can observe the whole massif of České Středohoří mountain range.
The Ore Mountains edges can be utilized by hikers, bikers or admirers of winter sports.
There are lots of modified and well marked routes and downhill courses from which the most known are those in the vicinity of Bouřňák, Nové město and also before mentioned Komáří Vížka.
Aqua center can offer a big variety of sport activities: covered swimming pool, children basin, switchback, saunas, and fitness centre.
In summer months there is opened a natural open air pool area “Barbora” in Oldřichov (5km away from Teplice) suited for recreation or water sports. There is also a practice golf area that includes a golf-club rental and other facilities. Teplice can even offer covered practice halls for all the folks who fell in love with golf.
Soccer favorers will surely be delighted by the fact that one of the extra-league soccer clubs FK Teplice has its base here. The “Na Stínadlech” stadium also serves for numerous international matches of Czech representation.
